WOMEN’S WELFARE LEAGUE
VISIT TO BUCHANAN HOME. INMATES ENTERTAINED. The Women’s National Welfare League visited the Buchanan Home at Greytown on Thursday and an enjoyable time was spent with the inmates. Mesdames H. Morton, H. G. Alexander and J. Speight, contributed musical item, and Mr Lawson Pither’s playing on the bagpipes was much appreciated. Community singing was indulged in, and afternoon tea dispensed, a spray of heather and a bag of sweets being given to each inmate. Matron Higginson was presented with a posy. The visitors were later entertained by the nursing- staff at afternoon tea. The following assisted to make the visit possible: —Mesdames H. E. Pither, N. Kilgour; A. W. McKenzie, S. J. Munn, J. M. Coradine, T. F. Watson, R. C. Drummond, W. Andrews, W. McKenzie, R. Page and J. Watson.
