SALE OF WORK

A SUCCESSFUL EFFORT. BY SUNDAY SCHOOL CHILDREN. The children of the Masterton Methodist Sunday School held a successful sale of work in the Sunday School Hall yesterday afternoon. For some weeks and especially during the school holidays, young hands had been busy making articles which found a ready sale with the many patrons. In opening the sale the Rev F. J. Parker made reference to the purpose of the sale, i.e., the purchase of Bibles, and to the good work of Mr and Mrs C. D, Shoosmith and others in directing the children’s efforts. Gordon Mygind, on behalf of the boys of the Sunday School, presented the Ladies’ Guild, through their president, Mrs Parker, with two large trays made by the boys. A busy afternoon resulted in a very pleasing financial result. t The competitions were won as follows: —Cake competitions: Muriel McCormack 1, Shirley Watson 2. Bible Class, Jocelyn Andrews. Best article made of wood, Graeme Lyttle. The stall-holders were as follows: — Work stall: Muriel McCormack, Audrey Stains, Nora Larsen, Valmai Price.
