TABLE TENNIS

CATHOLIC CLUB’S SEASON OPENED. The official opening of the Masterton Catholic Table Tennis Club’s season took place in St Patrick’s Hall, Queen Street, last night. There was a good attendance of club members and members of kindred societies. Keen competition took place in all sections of the Yankee tournament played. The final was decided between Miss Noeline Lochore and R. Gleeson and Miss U. Lochore and Mr J. Haywood, the latter two being the winners. The presentation of the prizes was made by Mr J. Curry, president o£ the club. Supper was provided by a ladies’ committee. After the conclusion of the table tennis dancing was indulged in until midnight and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne" brought the evening to a close.
