PARALLEL ACTION
LANDING OF MARINES AT KULANGSU BRITISH AND AMERICAN ACTION. PROTECTION OF INTERESTS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) LONDON, May 17. In reference to the British and American landings at Kulangsu “The Times” Shanghai correspondent explains that, earlier reports, from Japanese sources, stated that Japanese pa.U rols, after making a number of arrests in the International Settlement, were reduced to forty marines. It is inferred that the British and American naval authorities, being dissatisfied with this, decided to take parallel action for the protection of British and American interests. ■
