Appealing to the populace to evacuate cities for the countryside, not only to avoid bombing but to increase agricultural production, General Chiang Kai-shek, in a message to the nation, says: “The Japanese bombings may cause thousands of casualties, but cannot force China to her knees. Chinese ultimate victory is certain.”
