INDOOR MATCHES IN MASTER i ON. FINE DISPLAYS RECORDED LAST NIGHT. Spectators at last night’s indoor basketball matches were treated to some very line displays of the game. Chief interest centred on the representative game. The results were as follow: — Men’s section: —Reliance A beat Reliance B 12/8; Pirates beat Old Boys. 7/5; Y.M.C.A. beat Borthwicks, 18/7; Loan and Mercantile beat Press, 15/2. Ladies' Section: —Rovers beat United 26/24; Lancprs beat W.F.C.A., 36/ 14; Woolworths beat Hugo and Shearer’s, 17/8. The Mormon v Wairarapa men’s game provided spectators with men’s basketball at its best. The game was fast and exciting throughout. Mormons won after a close game by 18 goals to 16. For Mormon’s Elders (12), Later, (3), Handy (2), and Crandall 1, scored good goals, and for Wairarapa Reynolds (10) and Broome (6) were the scorers The following was the Mormon team: —Elders Lynn, Handy, Crandall. Becsing, Later and Wride.
