PONGAROA

RUGBY FOOTBALL. ("Times-Age” Special.) Pukehinau defeated Pongaroa by 9 points to nil on the Pongaroa ground. The home team put up a great performance against their much heavier opponents, holding them until the last quarter of an hour, when Pukehinau scored three tries. For the visitors Hartgil and Hardwick were the outstanding backs, the forwards 'being ably led by Mr Harold and R. Newland. The score may have been larger but for the solid defence of P. Peters, L. Berry and F. Hodder. Mr H. Power was the referee. At Tiraurnea the home team defeated Coact by three points jo nil.
