OBITUARY

MR LEONARD JAMES HOOPER. The death occurred at Hamilton on May 13 of Mr Leonard James Hooper, aged 82 years. The late Mr Hooper, who was born in Nelson, was wellknown in Masterton where he for many years conducted a large drapery and clothing manufacturing business in Queen Street, under the name of Messrs L. J. Hooper and Co. Mr Hooper established his Masterton business in 1878, after having gained experience with several Wellington firn". ; With his brother, Mr Vincent Hoopt-—«?

the late Mr Hooper built up an extensive business throughout the Wairarapa and neighbouring districts and many years ago employed large staffs. Regret will be felt by many old Masterton friends at Mr Hooper’s death, and sympathy will be extended to his relatives. There was a private interment at Hamilton East Cemetery.
