GOLF CLUB COMPETITIONS. LADIES AND MEN’S MEDAL ROUND. • \ (“Times-Age” Special.) Eketahuna Golf Club members spent an enjoyable time on Saturday at their favourite game. Walton, 29; R. Dickson, 30; A. Wilson, 31; B. Bradley, 31. Ladies. Medal round: Miss P. O’Regan, 106/ 31, 75; Miss B. Boyes, 105, 29, 76. BUSH RUGBY UNION. RESULTS OF SATURDAY’S GAMES. The following were the results of the Bush Rugby Union’s games on Saturday:— Senior Grade. Hukanui 0, Mangatainoka 0. Hamua 17, Eketahuna 3. Marina 16, Konini 16. Nireaha 8, Pahiatua 3. Third Grade. Eketahuna 8, Hukanui 5. Pahiatua 39, Nireaha 5. Mangatainoka won by default. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. KAIPARORO , MEETING. At the monthly meeting of the Kaiparoro Women’s Institute, Mrs H. Wolland presided over a good attendance of members. Mrs Wolland kindly took the chair, owing to the absence of Mrs C. Burton. Miss Betty Parry gave a very interesting repoTt on the annual council meeting held at Woodville recently. Miss V. Welch demonstrated rucked cushions, this being appreciated by the members. Proceeds from the produce stall benefited the institute funds considerably. Competitions for the month were won as follow: —Butterfly cakes, Miss L. Braddick, 1; Miss R. Braddick, 2; Mrs Braddick, 3. Fancyworked nightdress, Miss A. Dick, 1; Mrs Braddick, 2. Best flower, Miss-M. Welch (cactus), 1; Miss B. Parry (arbutulus), 2. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs Isakson and Miss A. Dick. The singing of the National Anthem bought an enjoyable afternoon to .a close.
