MASTERTON HARRIERS
27TH ANNIVERSARY A FITTING CELEBRATION. BIG GATHERING ON SATURDAY. In the presence of over fifty visiting harriers as well as their own members and supporters, the Masterton Harrier Club's 27th anniversary was fittingly observed on Saturday afternoon. The Scottish Club, from Wellington, were well represented. Many other clubs from other centres wore not able to make the trip. The 3 1-8 mile invitation race provided very interesting racing. G. Gregory (Masterton), who set a fast pace was first, with J. Riddington (Scottish) ciose up second, and McIntyre (Dannevirke) third, the rest of the field, being scattered. The old members race proved the worth cf the harriers of yesterday. J. Bradbury, who finished second, showed that he had not lost his excellent running style. The Masterton club’s president, Mr I. D. Cameron, welcomed the visitors and called on Mr J. Robertson, M.P. to present the prizes. Mr G. R. Sykes (a vice-president for 27 years) also spoke. The following were the results of the events —
