“SACRED BROTHERHOOD”
FRANCO ON WAR LESSONS. GERMAN AND ITALIAN AIRMEN FAREWELLED. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. (Received This Day, 10 a.m.) MADRID, May 12. General Franco, farewelling 10,000 Italian and German pilots, mechanics and anti-aircraft units at the Barajas Aerodrome, said Spain’s Air Force had drawn its bow and was ready to shoot. It was impossible for Spain simply to enter on a period of peace. The Air Force must always be ready to render first service.
“The war in which you have assisted,” he added, “has given us faith and confidence in our mastery of ourselves and in our unity as a sacred brotherhood.”
