SYDNEY LABOUR PAPER
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. SYDNEY, May 12. It is announced that a receiver has been appointed for the “Daily News,” formerly the “Labour Daily.” The dicectors state that the receiver’s appointment is the outcome of an amicable arrangement with the Bank of New South Wales which has an overdraft in the vicinity of £50,000 over the newspaper. Efforts are being made to sell the paper and plant by tender. Meanwhile it will carry on as the official organ of the industrial Labour Party led by Mr Heffron.
