SALE AT FEILDING. BUYERS NOT VERY ACTIVE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, May 12. The saleyards in Feilding today were again quiet, sheep and cattle not finding buyers very active. Mutton held at about last week’s rates, with ewes slightly down. No change was recorded in the store sheep sales. Beef was of low 1 quality and met with a poor demand. Quotations are: — Sheep: Fat lambs, best 17s 6d to 17s lOd, lighter, 15s lOd to 16s 6d, unfinished 14s to 14s 9d; prime wethers, 19s 6d to 20s Id, second quality, 17s 9d to 19s, unfinished, 14s to 16s 6d; prime ewes, 12s 8d to 13s 7d, lighter 10s to 12s, unfinished 7s 6d to 9s 3d; ewe lambs, good 22s 9d, fair 17s 9d, small 13s; wether lambs, best 8s 9d to 9s Id, others, 6s 7d to 7s; two-tooth wethers, good, 14s, backward, 9s Id to 9s 7d; four and sixtooth ewes, 18s Bd. Cattle: Heifers, heavy £6 to £6 12s 6d, light, £3 to £4 10s; prime cows £5 12s 6d to £6 2s 6d, lighter, £4 18s 6d to £5 7s 6d, unfinished, £4 7s 6d; boner cows, heavy £2 10s to £3 7s 6d, others, 30s to £2 ss; yearling heifers, £1 12s 6d to £2 7s 6d; steers £2 12s 6d; springing heifers, good £8 10s to £9 ss, backward £4 10s to £5 17s 6d; cows with calves £8 to £9; heifers in milk, £4 12s 6d; springing cows, poor, £2 to £4 ss. Pigs: Weaners, 7s 6d to 12s; slips 12s to 12s 6d, stores £1 3s to £1 7s 6d. CARTERTON SALE weak market for sheep. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report as follows: —We held our weekly sale yesterday when a fair entry came forward. Sheep met a weak market. Cattle were on a par with last week. Pigs slightly firm. The following are the prices:— Sheep: Fat b.f. lambs, to 16s; shorn wether lambs, 4s, 4s 3d to 5s 6d; woolly wether lambs, 4s to 5s Id; small b.f. lambs, 4s 4d, 5s 44d, 6s to 6s Id; medium b.f. lambs, to 9s 2d. Cattle: Fat cows, £3. to £3 10s; forward cows, £2 to £2 15s; store cows, 25s to 38s; cull cows, 10s to 20s; bulls, to £5.
Pigs: Weaners (good), 6s 6d to 8s; weaners (medium), 5s to 6s; weaners (small), 3s to 4s 6d; slips, 9s to Us; store pigs, Ils 6d to 16s; light porkers, 20s to 245; porkers, 25s to 375; choppers, 10s to 205.->
