INSTITUTE CONFERENCE CONCLUDED ELECTION OF OFFICERS. MR PRYOR. OF MARTINBOROUGH. PRESIDENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day., The annual conference of the New Zealand Educational Institute, which opened in Wellington on Monday, concluded yesterday. The retiring president, Mr T. Kane, was in the chair. Tributes to the work of the retiring president and other officers during the year were paid by representatives and Mr Kane was presented with a diploma of office. The election of office-bearers resulted: President, Mr D. C. Pryor (Martinborough); vice-president,- Mr D. Forsyth (Port Chalmers); treasurer, Mr J. Barnett (Johnsonville); Wellington resident members of the executive, Misses J. W. Combs (Lyall Bay) and M. E. Magil (Tawa Flat), Messrs W. H. Burgess (Island Bay), W. Martin (Brooklyn) and J. S. H. Robertson (Petone West); outside members of the executive, Misses V. Curtis (New Plymouth), W. M. Mansfield (Auckland) and F. J. Taylor (Auckland), Messrs R. McGalshen (Napier) and F. R. Price (Timaru). There were originally two nominations for the office of vice-president, but the withdrawal of Miss J. G. Park (Wellington) resulted in the election of Mr Forsyth without a ballot.
