AMATEUR BOXING
WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL MEETING LAPSES. The annual meeting of the Wa ‘ ra rapa Boxing Association, called lor las. evening, lapsed for want of a quorum. The annual report states that the past season has been mostly one of inactivity. the committee deeming )t advisable to mark time for a season. The Featherston Boxing and Gymnasium Club, which is affiliated to the association.’ held two amateur tournaments during the season, which were very successful in every respect. The association was represented at the New Zealand championships held in Gis borne by two competitors. W. Nix. welterweight. and S. Morris, lightweight. Both of these lads acquitted themselves well. Morris being eliminated in the semi-final by K. Moran, the Empire Games representative in what was proclaimed the star bout of the tournament. The delegate at the annual conference was Mr C. Larsen, of Carterton. who attended at his own expense and to whom the thanks of this association are tendered.
