GERMAN HECTORING
INSISTENCE ON RETURN OF DANZIG FUTURE OF CITY DECIDED. ACCORDING TO NAZI PAPER. (Received This Day, 10 a.m.) BERLIN, May 11. The official newspaper “Danziger Vorposten” declares that Germany has decided Danzig’s future and for this reason a plebiscite or similar action on the part of the residents of Danzig is superflurous. Poland’s bragging will not retard the return of Danzig to the Reich. Poland must not imagine that English and French soldiers will risk their lives. The British offers of intervention are not acceptable to Germany nor is Colonel Beck’s reply to the Fuehrer. Poland must recognise that Danzig belongs to the Reich. Germany is ready to march at the moment her patience is exhausted. This moment will be carefully determined beforehand. MEETING * IN ROME COUNT CIANO AND FRENCH AMBASSADOR. BUSINESS OF ROUTINE NATURE. (Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) ROME, May 11. A spokesman at the French Embassy stated that the Count Ciano-M. Poncet meeting last night was of a routine nature, and that Italo-French negotiations had not been reopened.
