PLAY READING

PERFORMANCE LAST EVENING. Before a large number of members and friends the Masterton Play Readers staged their second performance in the Midland Hotel Lounge last night. The play read was "The Country Mystery,” dealing with a murder in a country cottage while the owners were away on vacation. It proved a very amusing play brightened by lively and penetrating satire. The members taking part were: Mesdames Drummond, Dwyer, Barrel*, H. H. Daniell. Miss Douglas and Messrs Dickel. Macfarlane Laing, G. C. Gaze. H. H. Daniell. H. Mackenzie Douglas and J. D. Bennett.
