DEANNA DURBIN
NOT TO ELOPE. The young film actress and singer Deanna Durbin will r.ot elope with Vaughn Paul if her mother can help it. Deanna is seventeen. Paul is a studio director. Reports that they might elope are strenuously denied by Deanna’s mother. “Deanna is much too young,” said the mother. “Such a marriage would not stand up in the courts. Anyway, they are just boy and girl friends. They have attended only one football game and two dances together.”
