INTER-HOUSE COMPETITION. ADVANCED FURTHER St'AGE. The Inter-house Indoor Basketball competition was advanced another round last night in the Y.M.C.A. Hall before a large gallery of spectators. Results of last night’s games were as follow: — Ladies’ section: Y.M.C.A. beat Hugo and Shearers, 20. / 16; C. Smiths beat McDuffs, 25/16; Lancers beat United. 38/2; Possibles beat Probables, 24/10. Men’s section: Reliance B beat Borthwicks. 6/4; Reliance A beat Y.M.C.A., 8/7; Pirates beat Press, 17/6; Possibles beat Probables, 12/6. The selection committee has selected the following representatives: —Ladies' section: Misses P. Kilmister, B. Stitt, R. Eastwood, M. Eastwood, J. Gemmell (Lancers), M. Brady (Y.M.C..A.), A. Burgess (Woolworths). Practice will commence at 6.45 on Tuesday morning next for the New Zealand championships at Wellington on June 3 and The men’s team will be selected at a | later date.
