ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS
LOYAL MASTERTON LODGE. FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of Loyal Masterton Lodge (Manchester Unity) was held on Monday night last. Sister P. J. Wilton, N.G., presided over a good attendance of members. Accounts and-sick pay amounting to £39 7s 2d were passed for payment. Apologies were received from and leave of absence granted to P.D.G.M. Bro J. H. Langley and Bro C. E. Mooney. One sister member was duly balloted for and initiated into the Order, a warm Odd Fellowship welcome being extended her. The secretary reported the death of a much esteemed brother A. Mayhew, and it was resolved that letter of condolence be forwarded to the widow and family. Members stood in silence and reversed regalia out of respect to the memory of their late brother. Correspondence' frbm Sister; Lodges was received and dealt with.
A letter of recommendation 1 was granted to Sister M. Mackay to enable •her to visit , lodges in the North Auckland district. V.G. Bro L. P. Morris, Superintendent of the Juvenile Lodge, reported on a visit last Saturday night from the Palmerston North Juvenile Lodge when after a most fraternal welcome had been extended and replied to a thoroughly enjoyable evening was spent. The following nominations were received for the respective officers mentioned: —Noble Grand, Bro L. P. Morris; Vice Grand, Bro P. C. Reynolds; I.P. Nob!/? Grand, Sister P. J. Wilton; Elective Secretary, Sisters Rickards, Prout, Harris and Bro C. E. Mooney; Warden, Sisters Davey and Harris; Minor Degree Master, P.G. Bro R. C. Baikie. An invitation was extended to officers and members of Loyal Manawatu Lodge to pay a fraternal visit to Loyal Masterton Lodge at an early date. An invitation was received from •Loyal Combination Lodge, Johnsonville, for members to be present at their birthday social and dance which will be held in the lodge room on Tuesday, June 6. The dance committee reported that arrangements were well in hand for the long night social and dance to be held in the Masojiic Hall on Wednesday night, May 31. Patrons can be assured of a very enjoyable time. At the conclusion of the meeting the second, or Blue Degree, was conferred on a number of members.
