TRUST SEATS

CONTEST FOR EXTRAORDINARY VACANCY. MR W. L. BUTLER STANDING. Mr W. L. Butler announces _ his intention of standing as a candidate for the extraordinary vacancy on the Trust Lands Trust, caused by the resignation of Mr W. H. Jackson. As Mr R. Page has already been nominated a poll will be necessary. It is understood that there is a possibility of other candidates being in the field for the extraordinary vacancy. Mr Butler has twice previously unsuccessfully contested q Trust election. Mr Butler was today nominated by Mr J. C. Ewington and Dr. Archer Hosking. So far there is no contest for the three ordinary vacancies, as the only nominations received are those of the three retiring members, Messrs A. Owen Jones, E. G. Eton and C. E. Grey. Nominations for the ordinary vacancies close at noon on Friday and those for the extraordinary vacancy at noon on Monday.
