WELLINGTON SEASON OPENED. DONOVAN BEATS BLOMFIELD. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The 1939 wrestling season opened in Wellington last night, when Jack Donovan, the American, outpointed Lofty Blomfield, the New Zealand heavyweight champion, before a large house in the Town Hall. Blomfield took a fall in the fourth round with elbow jolts and. a body press, but the American evened with a fall in the sixth round, following two heavy dumps. They exchanged flying tackles and elbow jolts till the end of the contest, when the verdict for Donovan was well received, as he had done most of the leading. Donovan scaled 16st 101 b and Blomfield IGst 81b. It was a stirring contest, in which there was not a dull moment.
