EKETAHUNA

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. RESULTS OF COMPETITIONS. ("Times-Age" Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Eketahuna Women’s Institute held in the Anglican Schoolroom, Mrs Carter presided. There,was an attendance .of abouft thirty members and visitors, the meeting being opened with the singing of the National Anthem, the Ode to Friendship, and the recital of the Aspiration. Mrs Schormann . gave a very interesting report on the council meeting at Woodville. Mrs Schormann was congratulated by the president on her election to the executive council.

Mr Gray delivered an interesting talk on photography, demonstrating the proper use of lighting, grouping, suitable backgrounds and postures. At the conclusion of the address Mr Gray was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. A very successful “Bring and Buy” stall was held and was in charge of Mrs Fox.

The competitions resulted as follow: —Jar of autumn leaves, Mrs Baucke 1, Mrs Oliver 2. Buttonhole: Miss Mitchell 1, Mrs Baucke 2, Mrs Schormann 3. The potato growing competition was won by/ Mrs Oliver '(22lbs), and Mrs Albrechtsen 2. After afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Gray, Oliver and Burling, the meeting was brought to a conclusion with the singing of the N.Z. National Anthem.
