WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. MEETING OF MEMBERS. ("Times-Age” Special.) There was a good attendance of members at the monthly meeting presided over by the president, Mrs J. Lamb. Dr. Mulholland, School Medical Officer, gave an outline of Red Cross activities, and Mrs Gallon an interesting demonstration of basket making. Both were accorded votes of thanks for their addresses and presented with shoulder sprays. Six newmembers v/ere enrolled. A competition for six pikelets resulted as follows: —Mrs Hamilton, 1; Mrs Telford, 2. The next meeting of the Play Reading Circle will be held on May 17. A handcrafts’ class will commence work about the end of this month. returned soldiers. ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. At the seventh annual meeting of the Martinborough branch of the Wairarapa Returned Soldiers’ Association there was an attendance of twenty. The report and balance sheet for the year were adopted. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: Chairman. M,r N. H. Thomas; vice-chairman, W. J. Knell: committee, Messrs J. Martin, J. Jenkins, T. H. Smith, and A. C. Caseley; delegate to Central Committee, Mr F. Craig.
