A three-engined Air France liner on the Casablanca-Dakar service crashed in the mountains between Mogador and Marrakesh, killing all the occupants, comprising six passengers and the crew of tnree. Shortly before the crash the liner sent three urgent radio messages repeating the word “ice.” It is believed that the crash was caused by the wing controls becoming frozen.
