FILM STAR AND MOTHER
MONEY SQUABBLE OVER. According to the United Press, the boy film star, Jackie Coogan, and his mother have settled their long-stand-ing legal fight over the profits Jackie has earned over a period of several years. The court action, which had been commenced in September last, by means of which Jackie Coogan sought to compel his mother to repay to him vast sums, has been settled. The terms are that Jackie and his mother are to divide equally approximately 250,000 dollars of non-income bearing property. The mother is to retain 42,600 dollars worth of .jewels and personal effects. Jackie is to obtain rights to some films in which he starred. • Jackie, commenting on the settlement, said it was the only way to prevent the estate from dwindling even further through expensive litigation.
