Blundell. Players must be off the first tee by 1.15 p.m. Anyone unable to play is asked to ring the hon secretary (Miss H. Harvey), telephone 138 R, before 11 a.m. on Saturday. School Committee Meeting. At the monthly meeting of the Martinborough District High School committee there were present: Messrs H. L. Griffiths, K. Arthur, secretary, E. R. Burch, F. Wright, R. P. George, G.’P. Cotter, W. McNally, E. C. Sadd, R. Lawrence and the Headmaster- (Mr D. Pryor). Mr Griffiths was elected chairman, and Mr Sadd took over the office of treasurer. The National Peace Council forwarded a form for signatures in furtherance of peace interests. —The request was agreed to. Wellington Education Board w’rote stating that the tender of Mr N. Thomas had been accepted for various repairs and the plumbing was placed in the hands Of Mr Roper. The resignation of Miss Joan Hall was received and accepted with regret, she having received an appointment at Waipawa District High School. The Headmaster reported attendances for the month: Primary roll 191, average attendance 171, secondary 42 and 40.5. Mrs Mills was appointed school caretaker. Mr Sadd was appointed Visiting Committee for ensuing month.
