Forbes) stated that the meeting had been called to discuss the future policy of the club. Rehearsals for the production of the "Ghost Train” had been discontinued because some members of the cast were leaving the district, and it was not possible to obtain a new cast and produce the play by the stated date. The chairman explained that, as this had been the case in previous productions, it seemed that the club • was unable to carry out its original aim of producing two three-act plays per year, and it remained with the club members present to decide whether or not the club should disband.

or alter the constitution to meet the present situation. To test the feeling of the meeting •a motion was put that the club be disbanded and a new club formed, but lapsed for lack of a seconder. It was decided that the constitution required no alteration as the original minute had been rescinded previously and the aim of the club was to produce plays during each year. Mr Forbes notified the members that he definitely would take no active part in productions in the future, and it was unanimously decided that Mrs Johnston act as producer for the remainder of the 1939 season. It was moved and seconded that the previous motion to produce two plays, one in June and one in September, be rescinded. The motion was carried. It was decided that Miss Berrill act as producer for one-act plays for the social entertainment of the members, and that when the cast for the threeact play was selected, the secretary notify members of rehearsals for oneact plays.
