OPTIMIST CLUB
FIRST MEETING OF SEASON. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. A number of. enthusiastic young men met around the tea tables at the Y.M.C.A. last evening ’for the first weekly meetings of the Optimist Club. Optimist J. Duckworth was in the chair, and after having partaken of a dainty repast the members proceeded with the business of the' meeting. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Optimist Mr A. Handyside; vice-presidents, Messrs J. Duckworth and M. Finlayson; treasurer, Mr M. Daniell; secretary, Mr G. Barr; sherriff, Mr G. C. Gaze. v Mr D. C. McKee Wright, secretary of the Y.M.C.A., gave a short talk on the aims and objects of “Optimist Clubs’’ and on Y.M.C.A. work in general.
