WHEN EGGS ARE SCARCE
WITS MUST BE USED. The egg scarcity has made people use their wits. One scheme, when three eggs are required for a cake and you have only two, is to add a. tablespoonful of vinegar. It is an excellent substitute, and if there is the very faintest flavour of vinegar inf a plain cake (and probably there will be) there is certainly none in.a fruit cake.
