CHURCH OF EPIPHANY

SUNDAY SCHOOL PARTY. RESULTS OF RACES. In place of the annual picnic the Epiphany Sunday School, Kuripuni, held a most enjoyable party on Saturday afternoon. Games and races provided entertainment out of door until 5 p.m., when the children sat down to tea in the hall. Afterwards there were more games, tne party ending with the presentation, by Mrs Jackson, of the prizes won in the races, and the distribution of oranges, apples and sweets the gifts of friends of the Sunday school. The children expressed their appreciation of the good time they had had, and their thanks to the ladies, teachers and friends who had provided such an excellent tea, by giving three rousing cheers. The results of the races are as follows:—Girls under 7 years, Lorna Harman. 1, Shirley Peers 2, Phyllis Nelson, 3; 7-8 years, Beryl Henderson, 1. Harman, 2, Elsa Martin, 3; 910, years, Betty Martin, 1, Peggy Davies, 2, Eileen Pearce, 3; over 11 years. Jose Steel, 1, Joyce Clarke, 2, Connie Cox, and Elva Jackson, 3; boys under 7 years, V. Robertson, 1, C. Cox, 2. A. Cox, 3; 7-8 years, Cyril Leighton, 1, Roger Nelson, 2, Ronnie Nicol, 3; 9-10 years, Sedgley Bannister, 1; Hyla Leighton, 2, Lawrence Nicol, 3; over 11 years, Hector Braggins, 1, Trevor Judd, 2, Ivor Williams, 3. Egg and spoon races; Girs, Gwen Mouldie, Joyce Clarke, Elsa Martin; boys, Ivor Williams, Sedgley Bannister. Roger Nelson. Three-legged races: Girls, Elva Jackson and Joyce Clarke: Boys, Mick Manyham and Ivor Williams.
