MATERNITY BENEFITS
DOCTORS REJECT CONTRACT. WANGANUI DECISION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI, This Day. Because it could not approve of the terms, conditions and regulations of the offer of maternity benefits under the Social Security Act, the Wanganui division of the British Medical Association, at a meeting held at the weekend, rejected the Government's official maternity benefit contract. ACTION IN TARANAKI. NEW PLYMOUTH, April 29. The Taranaki division of the British Medical Association has unanimously rejected the Government’s contract to supply maternity services under the Social Security Act. In making an official statement of the division’s attitude, the secretary, Mr S. W. Crawford, said today that he had no comment to make.
