LEAGUE OF NATIONS UNION
MASTERTON BRANCH ANNUAL MEETING. VALUE OF COLLECTIVE SECURITY. Collective security, as represented by a League of Nations is, said Mr Anthony Eden, the only alternative to catastrophe and chaos. The most direct way of helping the League open to the individual citizen, is to join the League of Nations Union. Attention is drawn to the fact that on Tuesday, May 2, the Masterton branch of the League of Nations Union is holding its annual meeting at 7.30 p.m. at the Women’s Division Rest Room.
After the passing of reports and the balance sheet, and the election of officers, Mrs T. R. Barrer will briefly review the policy of the League of Nations Union in light of the international situation. Today the whole future of the world depends upon the establishment of the principle that unprovoked aggression is an international crime, which must be met by collective resistance. Upon this fact the covenant of the League is based, and the League of Nations Union has consistently upheld this principle. Members of other organisations and all interested are invited to attend, and in view of the importance of the issue it is hoped there will be a large attendance.
