The fortnightly sale of sheepskins, hides and tallow, was held yesterday by the combined Wellington brokers, an average, selection being offered. In keeping with the slight recovery in the wool market, full-wooled sheepskins improved jd a lb, short wools were not in such demand, and declined, by ,’d a lb, while pelts were generally unchanged. All grades of ox hides were easier by par to l-8d a lb, cow hides were more in request, and generally improved by l-8d a lb. Kip, yearling and calf recorded little change on last sale’s rates. The range of prices is as follows: — Dry sheepskins: Halfbred, 5d to 8d; fine crossbred, sjd to 8d; medium crossbred, 6.1 d to 8d; coarse crossbred. s:;d to 8d; half-wools. 4: t 'd to 7jd; quar-ter-wools, 31 dto 6d; pelts, 2 : ' ( d to 4d.
