PLUNKET BALL
OUTSTANDING SUCCESS. AT FEATHERSTON LAST NIGHT. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance at the Plunket Ball held in the Anzac Hall. Featherston, last night. The hall, lounge and supper tables were beautifully decorated by Misses Z. Tutbury and E. Williams. Udy’s Orchestra supplied the music, and the duties of M.C’s. were capably carried out by Mr N. C. C. Shepherd and Mr Roy Donald. Visitors were present from all parts of the Wairarapa and Wellington. The four carnival queens were presented by Mr N. C. C. Shepherd before supper.

Grant, black lace; Mrs J. Matthews, blue georgette; Miss J. Matthews, white and blue net; Mrs V. Robinson, eau-de-nil satin; Mrs Halpin, blue angel skin; Mrs Wakely, black and gold laina; Mrs J. Davis, black georgette; Mrs Harkness, blue cloque; Mrs J. McKenzie, black lace and georgette; Mrs Bergh, flame moire taffeta; Mrs W. Moroney, pink net; Mrs Turner, green satin; Mrs Varnham, blue floral sheer; Miss Thurston, flame georgette; Miss McTaggart, green floral brocade; Mrs G. McLeod, red velvet; Mrs C. Moore, navy taffeta; Mrs Robbins, black georgette; Miss M. Bloxam, blue and black satin; Miss L. Rifchie, blue organdie; Miss J. Matthews,. black taffeta; Miss Gordon, powder blue; Miss Anne Fellingham (blue queen), blue lace; Miss I Ngaire Tocker (red queen), ivory spotted net; Miss Eileen Cole (gold queen), gold satin; Miss Nancy Corbet, green georgette; Mrs Brandon (hostess), black georgette; Mrs Corlet (hostess), black georgette; Miss Z. Tutbury, flame taffeta; Miss J. Tutbury, white satin and net; Miss K. Keeane, blue georgette. The queens were presented with shoulder sprays. Apologies for absence were received jfrom Mrs Quentin Donald (president) and Mr Ben Roberts, M.P. Extras were played by Mrs Arch Clark, Miss Tocker and Mr B. Barnard (piano-accordion.)
