CALEDONIAN SOCIETY
ANNUAL MEETING HELD LAST NIGHT. PROPOSAL TO RB-FORM PIPE BAND. The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Caledonian Society was held last !evening, the president. .Mr J. B. MacLeah, presiding over a fair attendance of members. The annual report, which has been published in the ■•Times-Age,” was adopted. Officers were elected as follow: — Chief, Mi- T. S. Arcus; president, Mr R. McKenzie; vice-presidents, Messrs C. A. Burling and J. W. Colquhoun: treasurer. Mr W. S. L. Dickson.; auditor. Mr F. M. Cunningham; directors, Messrs J. J. Hunter, J. A. Kerslake. I. D. Cameron, G. Beecroft, D. A. Pickering, J. McKenzie, J. B. MacLeah, A„ McCowan, R. Burling and L. Pither.
A vote of thanks was passed to the retiring directors for their services. The resignations of Mr J. W. Henderson, a member of the directorate for 28 years, and of Mr W. G. Milne, another' director, were accepted with regret. Appreciation of their services was recorded on the minutes.
A sub-committee was appointed to go into the question of re-establish-ing the Wairarapa Caledonian Society Pipe Band. The appointment of a secretary was referred for consideration to a subcommittee.
