MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE; MEETING AT CARTERTON LAST NIGHT. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr H. McPhee presided at the meeting of the -Management Committee of the Wairarapa Rugby Union held last night at Carterton. Applications for transfers Were dealt with as follows:— R. Houghton—held over for production of clearance When application Will be considered. T. Reid, Greytown to. Featherston, granted on production of clearance; J. Barnes, Old Boys, to Gladstone, granted; S. Ed* wards. Martinborough to Greytown. granted, subject to application from Edwards himself; B. T. Spooner. Car* tertoh to Greytown, granted. H. W. Chadwick, 1 Old Boys to Gladstone, granted subject to clearance being pro* duced. McCalmont, Masterton to Grey* town, granted subject to clearance be* ing produced, tah Mason. Dalefield to Gladstone, and N. Grottbe, Dalefield to Carterton. gi'anted, subject to applica* tion from players. 11. Frew and V, Bargh transfers to Greytown. both declined. Alan Blake and ’lvan Blake from Old Boys to Carterton, granted subject to players’ applications. Rex Riley, Old Boys to Gladstone, granted, subject to clearance being produced. The application of B. Henderson to be re-instated a junior was declined. The control of Featherston ground Was left to Mi - F; Dohht to attend to. To play the St. Patrick’s Chib of Palmerston North and the Carterton lower grades on Memorial Park on Sat* urday next permission was granted to the Masterton Club. Passes to primary school boys, wild play RUgby, will be issued, giving free admission to grounds. Boys without passes will be charged admission. Club captains are to be given the option of purchasing an official pass for the season at a cost of £1 ss.
The offer of the St. John Ambulance Brigade to attend all grounds was ac* cepted; also that they procure the ne* cessary requirements. . • ’
The Ashburton Rugby Union's appli* cation for a game with Wairarapa on their northern tour, was referred to delegates to the meeting, as were re* mits from the Auckland ahd Hawke's Bay Unions relating to laws of the game and the selection of the New Zealand team for Africa.
Ten senior and twelve junior teams will compete in the seven-a-side tour* nament at Carterton on Saturday start* ing at 1.30 p.m. As proceeds go to the Accident Insurance Fund the price list has been suspended witli the exception of the Press and the Ambulance Bi’i* gade.
