GREYTOWN BOROUGH
MEETING OF COUNCIL. CENTENNIAL MEMORIAL PROPOSAL. ("Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Greytown Borough Council was held on Monday evening. His Worship the Mayor (Mr A. W. Horton) presided over a full attendance of councillors. The report of the foreman and the gas manager were adopted. The collector of dog taxes reported that 97 dogs had been registered. The question of the Centennial Memorial at Greytown was again discussed by the Council, and it was decided to confer with the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union on the matter. The foreman. Mi- J. Lyford, was granted his annual leave from May 5. The Wairarapa Electric Power Board wrote stating that the seven extra lights would be erected immediately as the material for these had now arrived. . The application from the Hockey Club to have the playing area cut and rolled was agreed to. It was decided to cut the hedges around the croquet green.
