MEMORIAL PARK

LIGHTING COMMITTEE MEET. PROFIT FROM CARNIVAL. The gross revenue of the Rugby Carnival last Saturday amounted to £32 8s 6d, it was reported at last night’s meeting of the Memorial Park Lighting Committee. Considering the state of the weather this result was good, members thought, and the ultimate profit will be approximately £25. Thanks were accorded those who worked so hard for the Carnival and special letters of appreciation were sent to the Municipal Band and to the Gladstone Football Club. A “Footballers’ Night” will be held at the State Theatre on May . 10 and all clubs are to be urged to attend and so increase the funds of the committee. Arrangements were finalised for the Rugby Dance to be held on Saturday next. The drawing of. the Art Union will take place at the dance at 10 p.m.
