TROTTING
WAIRARAPA MEETING MAJOR GUY WINS CHIEF EVENT. BEY MEMORIAL TO PECUNIA. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. The Wairarapa Trotting Club’s meeting at Hutt Park on Saturday was held in dull but fine weather before a good attendance, which would no doubt have been substantially greater but for the cold southerly wind that prevailed throughout the day. As was expected from the excellent acceptances received, the racing was full of interest, with some very close finishes. Three win dividends of double figures were recorded and the third largest dividend of the day was returned by Our Fay when she secured the minor placing in the Carterton Handicap. Though the track cut up a little, the going was not heavy and in all cases the winners registered times a good deal smarter than they were handicapped to go. The totalisator handled £23,053, which must be regarded as very satisfactory in the circumstances. Results: —
