BRIDE-TO-BE HONOURED
PARTY AT CARTERTON. (“Times-Age” Special.) Miss Betty Beale, who is to be married on Wednesday, was again the guest of honour at a very large party held at the residence of Mrs Lyndon Aplin, Tyne Street, on Friday afternoon. , „ The lounge rooms were most eliectively decorated with autumn flowers and spindleberry. . . Two very interesting competitions were held —"Advertisements,” and “Requirements of the Wedding,” the prizes being won by Mrs N. E. Stretton, and Mrs L. J. Fairbrother,. re-, spectively. On behalf of the friends assembled, Mrs Aplin, in an appropriate speech, asked the guest of honour to accept a very handsome beaten brass firescreen, and extended the very best wishes of all for future happiness. Miss Beale thanked' all for the excellent gift and their good wishes. A sumptuous afternoon tea was provided by the six- hostesses—Mesdames L., Aplin, A. Anderson, G- Brown, A. C. Tucker, W. C. Deller, and E. T. Beaven.
