LOSS OF SHEEP
CLAIM AGAINST COMPANY. LENGTHY COURT CASE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, April 21. The reading of part of the evidence taken in England for defendant occupied the whole of the sitting of the Supreme Court today in ac * lo ” which Alan Grant, stockbiokei, c mate, is seeking £lB2O 2s as damages from Cooper, MacDougall ana Robcit son, Ltd., Manchester, England. • Defendant company is a manufacturer of sheep dips and P laintlfr . ' leges that the use of one ot the dips made by the company killed 37 of his stud and flock Romney and Southdown rams and depreciated the value of 156 other sheep. For these he is claiming £B2O 2s with £lOOO as general damages to his business. Five days have been occupied m tne hearing to date and as yet the case for the plaintiff has not been completed. It was originally expected that the case would last till well into next week, but the indications now are that the case will not be finished till the following week. Plaintiff’s submission is that tne sheep died from pneumonia induced by absorptive poisoning from the dip. This is denied by the company.
