MISS BETTY BEALE
GUEST OF HONOUR AT PARTY. ("Times-Age” Special.) Miss Olga Barber and Miss Vina Tucker were the hostesses at a delightful party at the residence of Mrs A. E. Tucker, Rhodes Street, Carterton, last evening. The occasion was in honour of Miss Betty Beale, whose marriage to Mr A. L. A. Oakey, of Gisborne, will take place on Wednesday next. There were about twenty guests present, and each guest, brought a household gift. The guessing of the contents of the unopened parcels caused much amusement.
Mr V. Gustofsen, on behalf of the friends assembled, asked Miss Beale to accept the gifts with their very best wishes for every possible future happiness. Miss Beale suitably replied. Novelty games provided entertainment.
The bride-to-be was attired in a very dainty frock of georgette, the bodice being of pale pink, and the skirt white, patterned in dainty shades of pink and blue.
