IN MANAWATU GORGE. LARGE BOULDERS FALLING ON ROADWAY. (Bv Telegraph— Press Association.) ' PALMERSTON N„ This Day. Heavy rain fell overnight and over an inch was recorded, greatly refreshing the countryside. This was the only appreciable fall since early March. Rain continues today and trouble is feared in the Manawatu Gorge, as, following on their saturation after long dry spells, parts of the cliff face have become loose. Large boulders arc falling to the roadway and much care ir. needed.
