NEW AUTHORITY SET UP IN BRITAIN. REQUEST TO LOCAL BODIES. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright (Received This Day. 11.0 a.m.) LONDON. April 19. It is understood that Cabinet has approved the establishment of an authority to control the supply of munitions and material for the War Office. The Prime Minister is expected to make a statement possibly on April 20. The Government has requested local authorities throughout the country to give priority to civil defence measures for the next throe months. The Food Defence Department is increasing flour reserves by arranging for additional storage:’ for all bakers.
