LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

ADDRESS BY THE REV E. J. RICH. There was a good attendance at-the meeting of the Masterton League of Mothers meeting, held in the Parish Hall yesterday afternoon. The president (Mrs L. B. Maunsell) occupied the chair. Eight new members were enrolled. The League choir sang two numbers and Mrs W. H. Snowsill sang two solos. These were much enjoyed. The speaker of the day was the Rev E. J. Rich, who took for his subject “Life’s Partnerships.” Mr Rich dealt with this subject under three heads most pertinent to his audience. First of all the great partnership of marriage and the responsibility of the wife; secondly that of the mother and child, where the mother must of necessity, at the beginning, be the dominant partner, and thirdly that of the church and partnership with God. Mr Rich urged his hearers to be loyal to all these partnerships and to endeavour to realise the true meaning of responsibility. On concluding Mr Rich was very heartily thanked The tea hostesses were Mesdames E. J. Coleman, A. Corskie, M. Hope, N. Lee and F. J. Parker.
