PERSONAL ITEMS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Miss J. Scrimogour who has been visiting friends in Wanganui and Hawke’s Bay, has returned home. Mr and Mrs Rangi Piripi and Mr and Mrs J. Riwai also returned from Gisborne on Sunday evening. Mr and Mrs S. Hall were hurriedly called to Napier on Friday owing to the serious illness of Mrs Hall’s mother. Mr Douglas Kitney arrived back from Gisborne on Sunday evening. He visited Ruatoria and was also present at the big Native gathering held at Whangara, Gisborne. Mr Kitney stated that the East Coast country was looking remarkably well as compared with the parched conditions in the Wairarapa. During his stay in the East Coast area rain fell on four consecutive days. • Gun Club Shoot. Trap shooters are reminded of the club shoot of the South Wairarapa Gun Club which is to be held at the Lake Ferry on Saturday afternoon, particulars of which have appeared in our columns. Given fine weather there should be a record attendance of shooters and spectators. Large Catches of Eels. A catch of approximately a ton of eels was netted at the Lake Ferry on Friday evening and on subsequent nights the average catch has also been large. , Golf. A flag competition was played by members of the local golf club on Saturday, the winners being Mrs Herangi and G. Munro. A stroke competition will be played next Saturday. The draw is as follows: — Ladies: Miss Cock v. Mrs McKenzie; Mrs McLeod y. Mrs Tikao; Mrs Carter v. Mrs Bragg; Mrs Herangi v. Mrs Sutherland; Mrs Warren v. Miss McDougall. Men: M. McLeod v. G.
