GREYTOWN

CROQUET CLUB. ENJOYABLE TOURNAMENT. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Greytown Croquet Club held a very enjoyable half hour tournament yesterday. The lawns were in good order in spite of the dry season. Lunch and .afternoon tea were partaken of in the pavilion. The winners were: Mr*s A. Haigh 1, Mrs H. G. Carter 2. Diggers’ Market. The various committees met last night when final arrangements were made for the Diggers’ Market to be held in the Town Hall, Greytown, on, Friaay, April 21. It was decided that the tug-of-war competition be for teams of six and that the maximum weight be an average of 12 stone. This, competition will take place in the evening. The produce stall will be under the supervision of the wives of the “Diggers” of Battersea and they have had a splendid response to the requests for produce. Euchre Party and Dance. , The euchre party and dance held at Papawai was well patronised. The first prizes at euchre were won by Mrs R. Rewi and Mr C. Rewi, second prizes by Miss Stefford and Mr T. Hemi, and the third prizes by Mrs H. Taylor and Mr VZ. Taylor. A guessing competition was won by Mr C. Morgan. Songs were contributed by G. Marunui and I. Te Whaiti, and tap-dancing by Miss Bambury. The music for the dancing was provided by Mr Bevan, of Car ter ton.
