CONDITIONS IN BRITAIN. POST OFFICE SAVINGS BANK FIGURES. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10,55 a.m.) RUGBY, April 14. Higher prosperity and increased holiday facilities now available for the working people of Britain are reflected in the pre-Easter withdrawals from the Post Office Savings Bank, which touched £4,000.000 sterling, compared with £3.750,000 at the same time last year. The total balance now held by the Post Office Bank for its 11,520.000 depositors is over £523,000,000. an increase” of“£ 14,000,00 since the beginning of this year. During the last 12 months over £31.000,000 individual deposits and 16,500,000 withdrawals were made.
