CANTERBURY CHAMPIONSHIPS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, April 14. The Canterbury women’s golf championship meeting was continued at the Shirley links today. The surprise of the day was the defeat in the first round of Miss Joyce Betts, Nelson, by MiSs Zoe Hudson.' Results: — First round: Miss V. Fleming beat Mi's A. C. McKillop, 4 and 3; Miss Jean Horwell beat Miss ft. Buchanan, 4 and 3; Miss M. Beadel beat Miss Harkness, 2 and 1; Miss Z. Hudson beat Miss J. Betts, 3 and 2. Semifinals: Miss Fleming beat Miss Horwell, 5 and 4; Miss Hudson beat Miss Beadel, 2 and 1.
